I Found the “Ultimate Makeup Remover” at Olive Young — And I’m Never Going Back

I have a confession to make.

For almost 20 years, I honestly thought I had found the best makeup remover in the world.

Shu Uemura.

Yes, I was that loyal.

For years, I kept buying Shu Uemura cleansing oil because I simply believed that was what you used if you wanted to properly remove makeup.

Then, last year, I went to Korea.

And everything changed.

While browsing Olive Young — basically heaven for anyone who loves Korean beauty products — I came across this adorable little yellow-packaged makeup remover.

It was cute.

It was ridiculously affordable.

And I thought, Why not?

So I bought one.

And now?

I’m not going back.

This is the one I use everyday.

The Little Yellow Makeup Remover That Changed Everything

The first time I used it, I was genuinely surprised.

You simply take a little of the product, gently wipe or massage it over your makeup, and somehow…

Everything just comes off.

Foundation? Gone.

Eye makeup? Gone.

Daily makeup? Gone in seconds.

But what really sold me was this:

I don't need cotton pads.

That alone is a game changer.

There’s no standing in front of the bathroom mirror, rubbing your face with cotton pads and watching your makeup slowly disappear.

No pile of used cotton pads in the trash.

No “Wait, I need one more cotton pad.”

Just use the product, remove your makeup, and you're done.

Simple.

Fast.

And surprisingly satisfying.

And Can We Talk About the Packaging?

This is another reason I love it.

It doesn’t come in a traditional bottle.

Instead, you can find it in these super-convenient portable pouch-style packages, almost like a little pack of tissues.

There are also cute square container versions, which are perfect for keeping at home.

The packaging is bright yellow, cheerful, and honestly… ridiculously cute.

But more importantly, it is incredibly practical.

The small pouch-style package is perfect for travel.

Going on vacation?

Throw it in your suitcase.

Taking a weekend trip?

Put it in your toiletry bag.

Flying somewhere?

Even better.

It takes up very little space, and you don’t have to bring a separate bottle of cleansing oil plus a package of cotton pads.

One little package does the job.

That is what I call smart Korean beauty.

I Went Back to Korea and Stocked Up

When I first bought it last year, I had no idea it would become my new favorite.

But when I went back to Korea this year, I knew exactly what I wanted.

I stocked up.

And when I say stocked up, I mean I really stocked up.

😂

I looked at all the little yellow packages in my shopping bag and thought:

Okay… I guess I’m going to Korea again next year.

Because apparently, I now have a new reason to visit Korea:

Makeup remover.

Forget sightseeing.

Forget shopping.

I need to restock my cleansing products.

After 20 Years of Shu Uemura…

This is the part that still makes me laugh.

I spent almost 20 years thinking I needed an expensive cleansing oil.

And then I found this incredibly affordable product at Olive Young.

It works beautifully.

It’s convenient.

It’s travel-friendly.

It doesn’t require cotton pads.

It comes in adorable packaging.

And the price?

So cheap compared to what I was used to paying.

Honestly, when I think about how much money I spent on Shu Uemura over the years, I almost want to cry.

😂

But at least I finally found my new favorite.
