Why I Started Traveling with Toner Pads Instead of Toner and Cotton Pads

 



I have a slightly embarrassing beauty confession.

I have gone to Walmart just to buy cotton pads.

Not because I needed groceries. Not because I suddenly needed shampoo or toothpaste. I went because I had toner sitting right there in my bathroom—but absolutely nothing to put it on.

And this has happened more than once.

I would stand in front of the bathroom mirror, holding my toner, ready to finish my skincare routine, and then suddenly realize:

Wait… where are my cotton pads?

Bathroom drawer? Empty.

Cabinet? Nothing.

The mysterious beauty-product basket where I’m convinced I have “extras”? Also empty.

So… Walmart it is.

The Cotton Pad Problem Becomes a Travel Problem

At home, running out of cotton pads is annoying.

But traveling?

That’s when it gets ridiculous.

For years, whenever I packed for a trip, I had to think about toner AND cotton pads separately.

First, I had to pour toner into a small travel bottle because I obviously wasn't going to carry a giant toner bottle in my suitcase.

Then I had to figure out how many cotton pads to bring.

Ten?

Fifteen?

Twenty?

And somehow, cotton pads always seemed to take up more space than they should.

I also worried about the little toner bottle leaking inside my toiletry bag. Because nothing says “Welcome to vacation” like opening your suitcase and discovering that your clothes have been moisturized with toner.

Eventually, I thought:

There has to be an easier way.

And that's when toner pads became one of my favorite travel beauty hacks.

Then I close the bag and move on to the important questions:

What shoes am I bringing?

Where are we eating?

And, of course…

Do I really need to go to Walmart this time?

Probably not.

Because thankfully, I already packed my toner pads.
