I Went to Olive Young in Haeundae and Found My New Favorite Summer Drink

On a hot summer day in Haeundae, Busan, I stopped by the Olive Young at LCT.

I originally went in looking for skincare. Sunscreen, hair products, maybe a few K-beauty favorites to take back home.

I definitely did not expect to walk out thinking about drinks and snacks.

But there I was, standing in a Korean beauty store, looking at an entire selection of beverages.

Honestly, it still feels a little strange to me. 😂

I grew up thinking of a beauty store as a place for cosmetics, skincare, and maybe shampoo. Now, walking into Olive Young feels more like entering a little Korean wellness store, with beauty products on one side and snacks and drinks on the other.

And on that particularly hot day, after walking around Haeundae and shopping, finding a cold drink felt like the perfect little gift to myself.

My Favorite: Osulloc Kombucha

Among all the drinks I discovered, Osulloc Kombucha was the one that caught my attention.

Osulloc is already one of my favorite Korean tea brands, so I was naturally curious when I saw its kombucha products.

The fruity flavors make it especially refreshing in summer. A cold glass after walking around in the heat? Yes, please.

I love that it feels like a little treat without being as heavy as a traditional sugary dessert.

And because it comes in easy-to-carry powder sticks, I immediately started thinking about bringing some back to the United States.

A Korean Drink You Can Take Home

This might actually be one of my favorite things about Korean drink mixes.

You don't have to carry bottles or cans in your suitcase. The individual powder packets are much easier to pack, and you simply mix them with water when you're ready for a drink.

That makes them practical not only for yourself but also as Korean gifts for friends and family.

Imagine coming back from Korea and saying, “I brought you skincare!”

Everyone gets excited.

Then you pull out a box of Osulloc kombucha and say, “And this is for you, too!”

Why I Think It's Perfect for Summer

Summer shopping can be exhausting.

You walk around in the heat, carry shopping bags, try products, stand in line—and eventually all you want is something cold and refreshing.

That's exactly how I felt at LCT.

And somehow, finding a drink inside Olive Young made the shopping experience even more fun.

It's not just about buying another beauty product. It's about discovering little Korean lifestyle products that you can actually enjoy every day.

And honestly, I'm not complaining.

If I can bring the powder packets back to America, share them with my friends, and enjoy a refreshing Korean drink whenever I want, that's a souvenir I can actually use.
